Problems in Reverse

It was recommended that I change the solenoid in the transmission because my car is sticking in reverse when it gets hot. The drive position is normal. This has been going on for about 3 months. When I ordered the solenoid, the sales rep didn't ask which one. They sent me a solenoid valve. Well, when I opened up the transmission, I saw that there were 3 with exactly the same part number. So how do I troubleshoot? Anyone with a schematic for a trany of a 2001 740il M62 4.4 liter E38 chasis?
