The appearance is very subjective. I love it, you hate it. That's okay. There is nothing bloated and floaty about my 550i. I can say, on Sport+, this car will hold the road way better than my E60 ever did. (Maybe the E60 suspension in Canada is different than in the USA?). All said, my f10 creams my E60 in every way.
+1

At risk of offending e60 owners or admirers, the e60 was the ugliest of the Bangle era BMW's.... Just my opinion...

That said, if we go back to the point of the thread, we must be able to agree that there is no way an X5d can keep up to an F10 535i in acceleration as the OP alluded to.
I do realize when the F10 535 GETS MOVING, the X5 D will not keep up, my main point was when merging onto the expressway, the D merges easier, the F10 535, I was waiting for that initial burst which seemed to be an eternity which IMO is an issue when merging on
an expressway. Also when traversing the same off ramps at the same exact speeds the X felt more stable than the 535XI . I do realize that the F10 did not have any handling options but neither does my X5. And yes the F10 is a much better looking car than the the E60, only positives that I did like on the F10 was the oil temp gauge and the ability to have individual fan speeds for the driver and passenger.

F10 535 does 0-60 in 5.6s
E70 X35d does 0-60 in 6.9s

I'm in sure that at low rpm the X5d will provide much more acceleration for short bursts, but at decent rpm (>2500) the F10 would leave the X5d in the dust.
