Mojave Leather

Does anybody have mojave leather? If so, what exterior paint color did you pick? Can you share photos if possible? Thanks!

i have the mojave leather with dark wood trim, alpine white exterior. i've seen pics on the mojave leather posted by others around the web, and none of them were accurate. i don't assume i'd do any better. so i'll try it with words: the mojave is a taupe, a gray brown. some of the pics i've seen made it look like a medium pure brown- that's inaccurate. otoh, the swatch of leather they had at the dealer really just looked like a medium gray- that was inaccurate, too! it's definitely a medium-darkish brown, but with a gray undertone. that's the best i can do. i'll add that my wife and i both like it very much.

p.s. the alpine white, btw, is an off white with a tan-cream off tone. the mojave works with it very well.

Me530, when configuring my car we considered the mojave leather too. The sales guy explained the colour as a grayish cigar tobacco. I don't know if that description turned me off the colour but my concern was that colour would clash with the black trim. For some reason I thought the two colours wouldn't go together. j3ff, can you speak to the black/brown interior combo?

BMW has recommended colour combinations in its sales literature showing that most interior/exterior combos work with only one or two exceptions.

I went with the standard black leatherette and put the money towards performance options.

This is about the best description I have read. I completely agree that the photos online are not accurate (including those that I've posted in the pictures subforum). In my opinion, it really is a grayish-brown -- with the gray being more prominent in low light and the brown in bright sunlight. I have the Deep Sea Blue exterior and Fineline Wood Trim and I am very happy with Mojave.

To evaluate it, you should ask your dealer to show you any model with Mojave on the lot (they should have at least ONE car with it) and try to view it in a few different lighting conditions. A swatch or brochure photo doesn't really cut it (of course this is probably true for most colors, as well )

I just received my X3 in mineral silver metallic with the mojave leather interior. I also got the dark wood interior trim. It is beautiful! The contrast stitching on the leather really compliments the exterior color. If your dealer has a swatch of the leather, take a look at it. I found that to be an accurate depiction of the color. It is true that the brown/grey of the leather does contrast with the rest of the black interior, but the mojave is dark enough that this contrast isn't jarring. It all just blends. I am very pleased with this color combination!

I have the Mojave leather with Titanium Silver Exterior with the Fineline wood trim. I like it a lot. I bought the car out of dealer stock sight unseen with the stipulation that I could back out if I didn't like the color combo, but it really goes together. I have a 2010 Z4 35i in Titan Silver with black interior and I like the look of both cars equally well.

no problem. the dark wood trim is a very dark brown. the black interior trim seems to blend well, too- perhaps it's fitting in with the gray tone in the mojave. heaven knows, perhaps that's why they made mojave a taupe instead of a straight brown. in any event, it looks quite nice imho. my son described the mojave with dark wood as conveying "restrained elegance." as someone who is neither restrained nor elegant, i kind of enjoyed that.

I really wanted it but preferred a black exterior, which is not the best combo with grayish brown. I'd steer to the white and silver palette for the best compliment.

I was at the dealer yesterday taking our test drive (BTW, very impressive and it made me want the X3 even more). We were also interested in the Mojave, but they didn't have one on the lot AND it apparently only comes with the X3. The saleswoman tried to find one in the SF Bay Area, but the closest one was down in southern California. They also didn't have a sample swatch.

This is kind of frustrating because it sounds like a nice color, but we're not about to order one before we can see it in person.

So week before last mrs. jummo and I went to Denver (200 miles) to see Radiohead (unbelievable show,highly recommend).

As the 2010 335xi, err X-Drive was due for service, I scheduled it for the day after the show.

We picked up the loaner and thought we'd wander the lot for a bit and look at X3's since mrs. jummo is due for an update, drivewise of course.

One thing led to another and we ended up leaving with a 2012, Alpine White X328 with Mojave Leather and Fineline Sienna wood.

They had quite a few 2012 X3's on the lot and since I think a proper BMW should have an inline 6, the 2012 was an easy choice, in the end it came down to the Mojave leather. It is beautiful.

AW might not have been the first color choice, but the mojave leather was overwhelming.

I needed an alignment which should have been $112.00, but the extra time at the dealer ended up being around $43,000.

At least now she can't complain about me being the one with the fancy car.

Please post pictures of your new X3, since my wife is also considering ordering Mohave leather on an Alpine White X3. It's very difficult to find this color combo at a local dealer.

You do know they have leather swatches, right? It's a nice chocolate brown. You are most likely to find it in an X3 with Vermillion Red exterior right about now as far as what dealers have on their lots and getting a chance to see it in person.

I don't think my dealer had any swatches.

i found my dealer's swatch misleading. the swatch looked like pure gray, and i knew that wasn't right. i ordered mojave in spite of the swatch.

Dont know about the mojave, but I have tobacco brown with the metallic black and it looks great.

I saw this on an X3 35i at my dealer and it was beautiful. Very rich and elegant.

I am configuring my car with deep sea blue exterior, sand beige leather and fineline wave wood trim. I liked the mojave leather second best but somehow, I really like the two tone dash with sand beige leather. Has anyone got this config yet ... do you like it?

Agree with posts above...there is not a pic on the net that really defines the color. I posted pics of ours after we got it last yr. the contrast stitching with the sport seats looks really good, especially with MG exterior.
While it is a sharp color combo, it is not nearly as rich as the saddle brown full leather in my Jeep.

To me, it's kind of brown-gray, perhaps a mud-like color (though much more attractive than that suggests).

My X35i is Alpine White, and when it arrived, the CA, who initially had his doubts, ordered two more in that combination.

I really like it, and believe you will as well.

My 2013 X3 35i has an exterior color of Space Gray metallic gray and interior black Mojave leather seats with gorgeous stitching. I would not describe the black mojave as black-black but almost grayish black. All I can say is BMW did a good job with the 2013 X3 35i cars.
