Required documents at drop-off

For the life of me, I can't remember what docs I needed when I dropped off five years ago in Munich.

This time, I'll drop off the car in Geneva, and they requested that I provide them, in advance, with copies of the Purchase Order and Acceptance Receipt (pink paper).

I have a Purchase Order that I got when my CA ordered the car. It shows the production number, but there's no VIN #. Is this the Purchase Order they're asking for?

As for the Acceptance Receipt, is this something I'll get on delivery at the Welt?

Thanks.

I can only tell what they require at the log in out in Munich; passport, original purchase order, original international registration (green), original insurance attached to registration (yellow), original confirmation of registration (green), original confirmation of insurance (white), original date of confirmation (white). Good luck.
cheers,
vern

I gave them the whole bloody book that they gave me at the Welt. Got it all back when the car arrived at the dealership.

I turned in a Munich and handed her the whole book from the Welt as well. She took out what she needed and gave me the rest back. Everything she needed was in that packet (plus my passport, of course).

You're the first person I've heard say anything about having to provide docs in advance.

Thanks, John. Some of the non-Munich turn-in sites require, or at least ask for, certain docs to be e-mailed or faxed in advance of the turn-in, simply to save time. I'm sure my delivery specialist at the Welt will help me on this.

I dropped off at AMS, and I just kept all the paperwork in the packet they gave me at delivery and handed the whole thing to her. The person went through it all, took what she needed and handed the rest back to me. She also made photocopies of the paperwork she needed and gave them back to me as well. I had to sign two forms, one documenting the dropoff and the other the damage report form. I was surprised that I got to keep the German registration booklet (green) a great keepsake.

I dropped off at Geneva, and that sounds like what she requested from me last year. The pink acceptance form is one of the papers you sign at the Welt, acknowledging that you accept the car, and so you won't get that until you get in Germany. You can probably ask your hotel how much it is to fax the required paperwork to the place in Geneva and have them do it, or find somewhere local that will do the faxing to the place for you. Just try calling them before and afterwards to make sure they know the fax is coming in and that they've received the paperwork.

I'm not sure what other paperwork is required when you physically drop off the car, but if you bring in the booklet that contains all your paperwork, the lady who did my paperwork at Geneva knows exactly which paperwork it is, and she will hand you the booklet of paperwork back when she is done compiling what she needs. I believe she will provide you with the copy of any paperwork that she needs the original copy of. The whole process from arriving to leaving took only about 10 minutes.

10 Minutes?? It took me 90 at AMS, but the "regular guy" was off the day of my dropoff.

Maybe 10 minutes is too short, but it wasn't more than 30 minutes. I know that it was a very quick process, but I could have gotten lucky, and the people at the place in geneva weren't busy at all when I was there. It was literally just go outside to inspect car, and then inside for her to copy a couple sheets and sign a couple forms and we were on our way to the auto show across the street.

I'll second what SoonerJohn said. Just a few days ago, I handed over the book from the Welt, LogInOut took what they needed and gave me the book back.

10 minutes is about right. I just got back home from Geneva a few a hours ago. Rita, who I think is the manager, is very competent. She took the package I received at the Welt, made a couple of photocopies, went outside with me to take a look at the car and note the odometer reading, and that was it. I should point out that the young lady at the Welt who went over the paperwork with me was happy to e-mail the Acceptance Receipt and Purchase Order to the Geneva drop-off center. The entire operation was very smooth, as one would expect from the Germans and Swiss.
