I bought a 325i engine from a local recycling yard and bought a transmissions from Bavarian Auto Recycling (CA) with very good luck. For a little more, they will warranty their part.

I have a good running, low oil consumption, 1997 528i M52 motor that I will be pulling out for a M54 engine swap. The problem is that I don't know when I will be able to get to it.

I assume you need one now.

Send a PM to E46 Forum member "Smolck", and tell him what you need. He lives in `Bama, and has excellent salvage yard connections.

I think it's currently around 150K. You can come up and drive it first if you like.
