I'm thinking of fitting aftermarket CSL/Competition Pack 19"ers to my 09 M3. Wondering whether this will mess with the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. Does this system work by having sensors in the wheels (in which case I may have a problem) or by measuring the speed of the wheels across the rear axle using the ABS/traction control sensors, etc (in which case I'm hoping I'll be OK). Thanks.

Luv the M3 to bits and luv the look of the CSL style wheels to complete the perfect car!!!

Thanks. OK dumb question, where are they and what do they look like? If I replaced them are they available from my local BMW dealer and if so any idea how expensive they are?

Your valve stems are connected to the sensors. And yes they are available but they aren't cheap. They're about $300.00 a set.............Phil

Great thanks Phil. I guess I can get them swapped over from the old wheels to the new then. BTW love the look of your M3, mine is also Silverstone II and the CSL wheels are the start, although our insurance here precludes some of your more interesting mods!! David

You can swap them from your old wheels but you'll need a rebuild kit ($10/wheel) to insure no leakage from the valves. You can chance it without the rebuild kit but it's worth the small price for peace of mind. I think the rebuild kit just adds new washers which get crushed over time. I have the comp wheels on my '09...love them.

Thanks. Looks really nice!! I'm actually struggling to source the right wheels in the UK, dealers charge silly money and the only German built reps (Ronal) are for the previous gen M3CSL which are slightly different, although the offsets, etc are correct. I've found a place that will ship them from the US but a bit wary in case it goes wrong... David
