Hi All,
Just had my 1996 M3 brake replacement...rotors and pads.Bought the E36 Brake package from Turner MS...seemed like a good deal. Got the Axxis Street Brake pads... Am a little concerned about the loss of stopping power....not too much but noticeable from OEM. Am thinking of going to Pagid RED or BLUE... Reds are supposed from Bav Auto and are pretty quiet.. Blues, mixed as you have to make sure you bed them in proper any thoughts? |

Yeah, got the Axxis brakes pads too and boy, they Fcken suck! Never again. Went with ebc red stuff and loved'em! The squeal a little bit but its not a problem for me.

I tried the axxis also. I hate them! Noisy sometime, stopping power is okay but the brake dust is Terrible! I will go back to Hawk pads or Cool Carbon next time!

WHICH Axxis?
They make several pads. Deluxe Deluxe Plus Metal Masters Ultimates BTW EBC are known to eat rotors.

Mine are the ultimates. I really don't care for them much. I will swear by Hawk pads!

Deluxe are their basic street pad.
Metal Masters used to be a race pad when Repco (original name) came to the US. They work well as a street pad with some squeal. Deluxe Plus are a upgraded Deluxe. I have not run these. Ultimates are a very nice pad, except they dust a bit. I am running Ultimates on my E46 M3 and they will stand up to light track use.

I don't know about in the E6. But I liked Mintex red box on my E46 M3. Low dust and good performance.
The Ulitmates dust a bit and a LOT when used on the track. But track pads are not supposed to be clean.

I had the Deluxe Plus. Yeah, the brake dust was freaking horrible. the stoping power, freaking horrible. Once I ordered the Red stuff, I felt a BIG HUGE difference! and my rotors are fine. Nohing out of the ordinary

Wanted to give everyone an update..
Well, FINALLY settled for a set of COOL CARBONS Performance pads from Autoindividual.com. Price was 15% off....call/contact Steve...he is a great guy. I decided on that, well, after so much site reviews that my eyes started to hurt.. ...I was leaning towards the Pagids but maybe next time, i will do that....but I don't think you can go wrong with either Pagid Blues or Cool Carbons... they are supposed to be made in Germany...and Bav Auto recommends them...SUPPOSED to be better than stock. Either way, we will see...I know I just want the Axxis Deluxes out of my car....I am sure some have had good luck with them...but the performance was just to lackadaisical for me....oh well.. thanks to everyone and I'll post again in a week or so some reviews |

Hi All,
An Update: Just had the Cool Carbon on all 4's...and BOY!...BIG difference....not even fully broken in, and they grab....pedal feel is much better...modulation is superb... you can actually feel the brakes "bite"....predictable stopping....just like what an M3 is supposed to be.. ![]() Anyways...now i have some expensive paperweights so I am SELLING the 4 axxis deluxes I have.... Don't know...maybe $90 for all 4's ? Give me a reasonable price and we can talk... thanks for all your advice here |
