Switching out run flats

My Dunlops are without tread in the middle portion, outside looks to have good tread left, middle is slick, but not down to the tread markers, no tread grooves left though. Thinking about changing to non run flats, wondering if this will necessarily require realignment and can most any tire store take off runflats? My dealer said they would not replace my tires with any other than recommended runflats which are very expensive and current set seems kaput at only 10,500 miles. You guys foresee any problems, any warranty issues?

Just get a set from Tire Rack. Punch in your make and model and look for summer performance tires, non RFT. Read the reviews and ratings. Consider budget, then pull the trigger and have a local tire shop swap them out. Best decision you ever made. The car will run smooth as silk.
Michelin, Continental, Yokohama are all very good and popular.

my vote would be for Michelins - even michelin RFTs are vastly superior to Bridgestone by a MILE.

I ditched the Dunlop RFT's and went with NRF Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

You'll probably be fine without an alignment. I did one. I figure $162 for an alignment to make sure $1600 worth of rubber wears evenly was money well spent.

+1. Just drive the car, enjoy it, and return it with some thread left on it.
