takes me 20 minutes to fill my gas tank

hey bimmerfest forums!

i just purchased a 1991 318is and there are a couple issues with the car that need to be adressed, but the most annoying is at the pump. when pumping, it wont let me put more than 1/8 of a gallon in before stopping (i live in cali and the pumps there suck!). talked to my friend that is an e30 freak and he told me theres a vent tube or a breather hose that must be clogged or missing, so i went to investigate. today after work, me and my co-worker stayed late and tried to find it, but we had no sucess. i did a lil research at work earlier and thought i knew what i was looking for, but i was wrong.

i would really appreciate any help with this problem, its driving me nuts.

yep the breather tube/valve is clogged. i would help you if i could, but i never messed with that.

I have the same problem. All i did was put it in side ways and it stopped the problem.

yah, i tried putting the nozzle in different ways and that didnt help. all i really need is a diagram of the tank hose layout and i could find it, but i couldnt find it on the internet either... i guess i just suck at finding things in general 0_0. i think i may jack the car up again on my weekend and take another look.

jack the back of the car and take off the back right wheel, and then the inner gaurd liner and you will see it
