New 5 Owners, How old is everyone ?

I personally like bigger cars, more room and comfort. I was looking at
X3 or a used X5. Then I decided I still wanted speed in that equation. With X5 M being 90K. I decided that a luxury sedan with a bit of oomph would do it for
me. So I finally set on A6, 5 series, no E class, you better be over 60 driving that. I feel in love with the A6 3.0 prestige But I can't afford it right now. So a 2011 535I was the winner, 3k miles, 8 grand under value, buying in 2 days, wish me luck guys.

Lol my bro was comparing a 911 turbo to a Maserati gt. The gt looked like a palace compared to the 911. There really is no room, for much. you can't even fit 1 suit case.


Another weird advantage for me to buy BMW is they're close to the airport. I can drop my car there and just travel and when I come back it'll be waiting for me, all clean and ready.

I wonder what a similar poll result would look like if this was done for the 3 series? I bet a much higher 22-29 percentage. Also the model year is important I think. I would have never bought a 5 series prior to the 2011 model year because they were plain ugly (IMHO)! Not that I bought my car solely based on looks, but now it's so sexy and also has great performance.

Lol agreed for both topics. 3 series will def have a younger crowd. and last year I was looking at an 09 528i, but I just couldn't get over the weird look, no matter how great it is.

I lost the bid for the car, some mfer from Beverly got it, so he'll prolly come here and post his pics. 535i Space gray, m package, premium 2, vent seats, top/side view, only had 3k miles.

I unfortunately have no option B, other than to wait for the 2012 A6 price to drop.

I'll be back hopefully when I find another one.

23, although 24 is right around the corner!

When I was 22, I traded in a Z4 2.5i for my first 525i after I graduated from college. To me, it was a quite different driving experience compared to Z4. I then decided to sell the 525i and lease an 09' 550i M when I was 24.

Honestly, with all these incentives from BMW, it becomes more and more affordable to drive a 5 and even 6.

Don't lose hope man. And definitely don't go for an A6. If you wait a couple months, you may get lucky with some 2012 F10 lemons, and then get it with a few thousand miles on it, but with a brand new engine and/or transmission at a bargain!

Haha thanks, I'm still pretty content on getting a 535, I might have to do away with the M and have a sport package if I want one anytime soon. I'm just not exactly patient when it comes to a new car at this level. My buddy recommended me an E-class coupe. It looks pretty amazing actually.

From my experience, it seems like no dealer (or very rarely) has the M package on the lot, and would need to be factory order. But all of them have many sport package cars. The E class does look nice. Mercedes was always really good at making very nice looking cars, especially on the interior. And BMW was always really good at making ugly interiors (though it's gotten somewhat better recently). Have you driven the E class though? I test drove one, but it was probably a 2009 or 2010, and it drove like crap. The 2012 base has a 300hp 3.5L V6. I'm not sure what the older model had in it, but I stepped on the gas and nothing happened! My 98 Acura with 160k miles on it had better pickup then the E class I drove.

Yeh, the E coupe looks pretty good. It's no CL/CLS coupe though. Good luck at the dealer tomorrow. Don't forget to try the "it's the end of the month AND the year" bargaining technique! But as the proud new owner of a 2012 528xi, I must say it's not the size of the engine that matters, but how I drive it! And I can drive alll night long...in my sweet multicontoured seats

One thing that settle me on the 535 is the interior. BMW really done right this time on the interior design. In the Oylster/Black combination the car is super classy.

I could never take the E class because their interior is horrible. It looks like my mom's Mercedes from 1990's. That is the first impression I got when I first saw the car.

Even the Audi A6 in my opinion doesn't have as nice interior than the BMW. Which is why I settle for this car.

Everytime i lease a new BMW i'm 1.5 year older......have 5 series and X5. So far had 4 X5's and 5 sedans. Hope it helps the survey ?
