Installed LED AEs

Figured it was time to upgrade the std AEs to LEDs.
I bought a pair from www.bmwled.com for $40 +free shipping
They are 5w 7000k
They match the HID color so much better then the originals. [The pictures I took really dont do justice to the new look.]

Since these are for my 2002, they are just plug and play. Basically took me 5 minutes to put in.

What came in the box


Locate the AEs on the head light assembly and rotate them CCW


Release the wiring clip

Then snap on the new ones, put them in CW until the lock into place, and your done

Half Halogen/Half LED


Finished Product.


Overall I'm pretty stoked with the product. I didnt get any errors, they look great, super simple to install, and pretty cheap.

I like these WAY more than the weak yellow halogen angel eyes.

That's because he bought a 5w 7000k kit. Not everyone's cup of tea, and it bothers some blue eyed people. But whatever.

Correct, there is a slight blue tint, but it kinda disappears with different lighting
(late afternoon shot)

Here is the 5W $37/pair LED Angel Eye from EBAY in bright midday.

I bought the Umnitza ICE LITE and they also have that blue tint a bit....I have halogens and standard H7 OE bulbs. Questions:
1 - What are better options to get a brighter more true white (similar to new BMWs)?
2 - What H7 Bulb should I get that will better match my new HALOs at the same time not affect light outpot?

I have the ebay ones and they appear identical to the o.p.'s.
Love em. You even get a fancy light show when you start the car.

hmm you know I'm not really sure.

If you want a less blue tint, it would be good to go with a lower color temperature.



My AE leds are at 7000k,
I think Umnitza has a warmer temp AE set up here: http://www.umnitza.com/predator-ices...mw-p-1111.html

I really have no experience with most of those products because I just went for low $$ and I already have HIDs

ICE V5 and ICE VXX are pure white and VXX actually is a little more white than V5.

What is the resistor pack for and do I need it?

you do not need it if you have an E60.

My inner driver side angel eye is out so I'm wanting to do an upgrade. OP says he bought a "pair". Do I just need two for all four lights or do I need two pair? If one powers each side I'm thinking this won't fix my problem since the outer on the driver's side is lit while the inner is not.

1 set = both sides.

I have 2 sets I need to get rid of....

You just need two lights for the whole car.
By pair I mean half the pair goes on left and the other half goes right.
so from my understanding this wont fix your problem
