New 650i individual convertible owner

Hi there, Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself here in the 6 forum. I already posted some details in the new member section

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=617173

The only thing I'm missing is playing music from my iPhone. There is an ipod conection in the glovebox but it doesn't recognize my iPhone. Dealer says it's probably only working wih older ipods and the best choice for me is to get an iPhone snap-in cradle. Can that be true or is that totally BS? The snap-in music, seams a very nice feature though!

Pic from my 6

Sorry for the big picture

Congrats on the purchase!

I've done a bit of travelling in the Netherlands and found some of the roads to be quite narrow -- do you find it somewhat difficult at times due the coupe's size?

Thanks!! Where have you been in the Netherlands? The roads here aren't a problem but I rather not park into parking garages because there are often tight corners with high curbs which can destroy the rims.

I'm going to call BS on the dealer. I retro'd a BMW MOST adapter in my (then) '04 645 and I was playing music from an iPhone. There may be a power issue (Apple changed the voltage needed to charge iPods et al) but you can get a Scosche adapter to put at the end of your cable.

Glad you had a great time! We get a ton of tourists from the U.K., good to see we are drawing from other parts also.

BS on the cable! The dealer doesn't know what he's talking about. I have an '08 650i convertible and my iPhone 4 works perfectly via the cable adapter. Did you buy the cable from the dealer or after-market? I purchased mine from the dealer after reading reviews that the after-market ones tend to malfunction. The snap-in adapter is a nice butpricey option.

I do a bit of business with a few different companies, located in Eindhoven and Arnhem. I average about two visits a year, but hopefully a lot more to come as we are working on a new operation based out of Arnhem.

Thanks for the info. First I will try to connect an old iPod to see if the connection works at all. It was already there when I bought the car and I have no idea if it's aftermarked or from the dealer. I assume it's from the dealer.

Thanks!! I also liked this colour a lot. I saw it at first on an M6 Coupé which was advertised on the web and had mu doubts if it weren't to orange but after seeing it IRL I immediatly was very enthousiastic about it. This together with the graphite color lether and brushed alu panels makes it a fantastic looking interior.

Ok. I know both cities. Never lived there myself but know people there. I myself live in small city near The Hague called Voorburg.
