Lowering a 2008 528xi Suggestions
I'm really interested in lowering the front end of my 2008xi and suggestions? I put 19" VMR's on, and the rear looks ok just would like to lower the front approximately 1 inch. Is this easily done or really expensive?
Any suggestions would help. Thanks

I did this on an 02 Q45 with Nismo springs in the front and stock on the rear.
If I remember correctly, I ended up with extra understeer plus straight line feel and cornering suffered greatly. The car just never felt right because the rear and the front were such different spring types. |

Yeah, the front well space on cars when compared to the rears always bother me a little too.
Most lowering springs have increased spring rate. Some brands are more significant than others. So if you intend to just install the fronts, look for one that increases the spring rate the least so it keeps the correct balance when corning and transitioning. Also, you will probably need your lights re-aligned. |

You can use ST Suspensions Coilovers. Runs about $950ish for the kit. You can get 1" to 2.2" of drop. I have a 2005 with 19" VMRs. I have KW Street Comforts with about a 1" drop.

Kris - these are fine for RWD e60's but for the AWD XI they will not work unfortunately. KW V3's are the only coilovers the XI can use.
