Check engine light

Have been lurking around here for awhile and finally decided to post. Enjoy this forum very much - have learned a lot. This morning check engine light came on along with oil interval no longer able to be tracked and engine running hot (250 degrees F). Take into dealership, get a call about a hr ago asking where car has been parked. Supposedly a rodent has chewed the wiring. Have only had car 2 months - find out this and prev owner installed non BMW windshield so rain sensing wipers don't work either.
