cant get M62tu vibration dampner off
I removed the 8 torx bolts, TIS and some videos i've seen mention only removing the 8 bolts.
It will not budge. Do I need to take off the large bolt? Thats the Jesus bolt correct? Im not messing with that thing. I am removing this to clean the years of oil cake sitting on the top of my oil pan. Figured i would pop it off while replacing some things and clean behind it. I think i might damage the unit if i wack it with a rubber mallet to loosen it. |

Are you sure they were torx? My 01 had 13mm hex heads.
You need to whack it with a rubber mallet. It pops right off. Its the outter part of the pulley that will remove. Not the inner part. You need to remove the jesus bolt for the entire thing to come off the crank end.

Should i rub a little bit of anti-seize on the surface after I clean it?

I think i just cleaned it up. My plan was to hope i never need to ever remove it again lol because i was doing timing guides.
