Using auto hold and start stop together

I am wondering what would happen if I use auto hold and start stop together, does the engine stay on at a red light or does it shut off and restart when one hits the gas?

Try it, but be sure to back your car out of the garage first

It's really a nice feature. The engine will shut off, and you can let go of the break. Then the engine will start up only when you press the gas. The only annoying thing about using auto hold is that when you put the car in park and shut off the engine, the next time you start the car, your parking break will be engaged and you have to manually turn it off. Don't really understand the point of that feature. It's kinda like how the AC always turns on every time you start the car.

Is there a delay when you hit he gas, I am guessing the engine takes about a second to start up.

I don't think it's even that much. It's almost instantaneous. You just tap the gas, and you're already moving. It's about the same startup time as when you don't use the auto hold, and the engine starts when you take the foot off the break. Lots of people complain about the feature, but I love it and don't feel any lag at all.
