Bluetooth is fine, but I prefer a dock to a cable.

I don't have an iPhone anymore, but does it have to be taken out of the case to put into the dock?

Yeah they should be flexible if people want to use a cable.

I don't use a case on my iPhone. Ever since the iPhone switched to glass and metal construction, I view cases as a waste of time since the case is more likely to get scratched up than the phone.

New nav looks fantastic. Is there any hope that it will be possilbe for current owners to get this as an update, or is it based on different electronics.

Knowing what we know, I wouldn't be surprised to be told that you will need to buy a new BMW to get this. But here's a coupon for 15% off BMW apparel (does not apply to M apparel).

On the contrary! I would say that knowing what we know now, and with the help of E-Sys, it could be more than likely upgradeable...

Needsdecaf, thanks for link to better look at new nav, or rather new idrive and HD display. The new display is awesome, definitely not a retro fit candidate. However it may be sourced by this producer, see my new thread just for nav.

Yeah, I want that iPod out and dragon dictation functionality

Hopefully BMW has made the Office functions work with all Androids/iOS devices

Unfortunately, I think the ball is in Apple's court as far as Office functionality - they need to implement the Message Access Profile unless BMW can somehow find another way around it.

3) Improved nav graphics - but when I look at the picture all the buildings have same gray facade and terracotta roofs. I don't know if that is contextual or whether they have a blanket coloring scheme. We don't have gray buildings with terracotta roofs in miami so this will look really stupid if it is a standard coloring scheme.
4) The interface does look a little more modern.

It's disappointing how locked iOS really is. BMW was the first car maker to offer iPod functionality. It would be awesome if BMW and Apple worked together to offer Office functionality for iOS

Mein Auto: I'm still dreaming....
Any reason why this latest Navi is not going to be featured in the 2013 6-series?
