I hate having a house that I sorta own, it makes me do things like fix/ improve the house instead of spending my time/ money on my car like I should.

But on the plus side I bought and started installing skylights in the mast bedroom to replace the horribly botched home made ones my dad put in 23 years ago.

I'm going with herculiner. It's the Menards specialty. I had to get an extra quart cause I have an 8 foot bed, but they had a sale and a 20 dollar rebate so I got it all for like 76 bucks

By got it all I mean the roller kit, and a gallon and a quart of bedliner stuff. Reading online they say that it's pretty good as long as you do good prep work. I'm going to do my bed rails as well so wel see how this goes (read: lots and lots of sanding)

Went to Oreillys today to order two motor mounts for my WRX, their cost; $90.33 each.
Went home, sat on my computer, went to RockAuto.com and ordered two mounts for my WRX, their cost; $48.91 shipped for the SAME mounts

Franklyn...sorry to hear about your dad...I can sympathize with you and you and your family are in my thoughts.

Speaking of thoughts...is it wrong that I don't love my wagon like I love the funmobile? Granted, the wagon's older and has 2x the miles, but the steering is so dam light in the wagon that it feels too 'soft' to drive (I think it's a boosted 2001). Is this an expensive swap (hell, I wouldn't even know what to swap).

Plus, I think the dam PO didn't attach the heater control faceplate back to the dash when he switched out the radio for a Dyanvin, so when I press the buttons for the heater fan (which I hate, I like the dials on the funmobile), the whole thing moves. Plus, it's got a spot of rust (from the sunroof drain) that I have to fix. And, it doesn't have heated seats. Sometimes I think about selling it and looking for another one. (I so wish the x1 would come to the states already, like 6 years ago, so I can afford a used one that has already had it's first model refresh.)

Or maybe I'm just pissy that I have to get up in 6 hours to fly back to Minneapolis for work.

Rant over. Proceed.

PS...the TI is lovely. I am one of the few people who like the outside lines on the car (the inside is another story)...

Jennifly! Nice to see the ol work grind has kept you happy! I haven't even seen this wagon, please post some pics! Also, for the steering, keep in mind that it was designed with daily driver in mind, unlike like your fun mobile which was designed with more of a 'weekend sportster/teach dog how to drive'.

I just finished my first coat of bed lining. Holy crap is it a lot of work. Like painting a car...so much sanding

I feel bad not taking pictures. The inside desparately needs detailed...so I've been avoiding it. I promise to try and get some this upcoming weekend. :-) Seriously, though, is there something I can do for the 'floatey' steering? (or do I just live with it)....

Jen

PS..I must really go pack now. Boo.

Hey Jen! Long time no see! I had the same problem with an XJR I had. On mine, I simply unplugged the connector that feed speed data to the power assist for the rack and it defaults to the least amount of assist. Made it perfect for me, might be worth a shot. If you're comfortable with electronics you could add a resistor to the circuit to lower the assist level.

Edit.....this eclipse is bizarre, it a was like looking at everything through a hazy filter.

what series touring?? (i forgottened...)

when you say 'floaty', do you mean simply softer with less feedback, or is there a feeling of delay in the response to your turning the wheel?? i'd look at the bushings and see ifthere is any indications of wear. you could upgrade to tougher bushings which will help with the responsiveness, but may increase noise/vibration/harshness. i'd suggest checking in with the forum specific guys to see what they suggest. it may simply be the difference between sport/non sport options. i really couldn't say, though.

and yeah, non heated seats does suck after having them...

have a safe trip and get 'er cleaned up so we can take a peek at it!!

and franklyn, sorry to hear about your father. my condolences for you and the rest of your family for the loss.
