Why BMW?
I'm curious to know why my fellow bimmer lovers simply chose a Bimmer.

Long long long long story. At the end of the day it puts a smile on my face no matter what and how much $ i spent on her today. BMW is more then a car to most of us here. U take care of her and she will take care of u. Its everything that is combined in one single piece of machinery. No matter what model of BMW u go with it will always make u happy. Also BMW is a brand with great history. When u own one it feels like you are part of something. Bmw owner will always help each other no matter who u are what u do and where u end up being. U will always be a part of the big family. No body owned bmw as a brand bmw will always be independent will never be sold to another car company its a perfect combination of style, luxury and performance. One name -ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE.

This time around we cross shopped a lot of cars. We looked at Mercedes, Audi, VW, Peugeot, Caterham, Alfa Romeo, Volvo, Seat, Citroen, Jaguar (used) and even a Range Rover Evoque. For the price, nothing came close to the Z4. A Caterham is more fun but would be hard to live with as a daily driver.

Great responses guys! I drive a 05 E60 and I love it as well. The BMW is an amazing machine. Also there seems to me a comradery between bimmer drivers. On the internet and on the roads!

Currently I don't own BMW but I drive BMW pretty much every weekend. My business partner hs X5 and when we go for our DJ gig he hands me the keys because he knows how much I enjoy the ride.
I don't have much knowledge about engine, features, luxury but I can definitely say which car give me the ultimate driving experience and that is BMW. The ride of this car is simply out of this world. BMW is not going to claim they came up with XYZ luxury but when they have that option available in their car it is hands down the best. (I am not sure if everyone agrees with my statement coz few people are not to happy with BMW Navi) Attention to details for engine is >*

Download a user's manual. See if anything else compares.

1. safety (though it wasn't so safe years ago)
2. performance Those are the top two. I have to admit that snobbery and brand name counts. That is why if there is a Hyundai or a Ssangyong car that is twice as good and half the price, I still have to think if I really want that kind of car. If a Ford or Subaru were twice as good and half the price, I would strongly consider it. There are some things that I do not like about BMW. Run flat tires, no room for a spare (if there were a spare and run flats, that would be better), orange dash lighting, red rear turn signals, no oil dipstick, etc. Last edited by S93D; 05-25-2012 at 04:55 PM. |

What u listed above is really minor. Ppl dont care bout it when buying a bmw. Plus u can always change runflats, lights, etc. but u can never change ford, hyundai etc to something like bmw or mb.

I was a Mustang fan for years. Years. Test drove a new 5.0 and loved it. But all my Bimmer owner friends at work kept telling me I was missing the boat. So I test drove a new 335i and my jaw literally dropped. For daily driving and speed it was the perfect combo. Factor in two kids and the need for car seats and safety, and suddenly the air bag count became a huge contributor. In the end, it was a simple decision. Ride, comfort, HANDLING, speed, safety, looks...I had to be honest with myself and admit I liked the bimmer better.
