Help Smoke!! Plastic smell coming from e92 underhood

Help Smoke!! Plastic smell coming from e92 under hood. The smell is terrible I was racing and I Pulled over because it was smoky. The smell is sticking to me. It happened 2 hours ago can still smell it on me. Any body sknow what it is?

A plastic part or windblown garbage bag has become over-warm.

What was it you wanted us to do?

That happened to me as well. I got a plastic bag got stuck and melted on the mid pipe (on my older civic). Took me a while to "scraped" melted part out. Until it was cleared, i got this stinking plastic burning smell all the time from my vent.

Yea, I took it to BMW hopefully its not going to be to bad. The smell was terrible , Im still coughing from it.

Be sure to mention you were racing when all of this happened.

Just had the same thing happen to me. I never thought it could of been a plastic bag. I took it in for service and am waiting for a call back. The cabin filled with plastic burning fumes and there was smoke coming from the top left part of the engine.

They went over the entire car.

Valve cover gasket was leaking. They also found and repaired leaks in the steering pinion seal and the rear axle seal.

Thank god for the CPO warranty, only cost me 50 bucks.

I think the original OP may have been "busted" by his dealer when they found a "toasted" bright orange cone from the race track stuck on his exhaust.
