Rear shocks on 95 540 m sport
So I found out that my rear shocks are coming through the mount

well as far as I can tell it happened b/c my cars lowered, I think that I can just replace the mount and not the whole shock

Was driving a heard a loud bang, thought I hit something. Went to the autoparts store and noticed there was a knocking,took off the back seat and this is what I found

Wait. So your springs were too short for the shocks you were using?

no I don't think that was the reason, I think it's because the camber is offset b/c it's lowered and it's a stock mount. here's a link on how to replace the shock, read the bottom
