M20 Oil Pressure Issue

Hi, Seems this car just keeps throwing me one problem after another. Pumps, computers, lights, etc.

So I start it up the other morning to trim a tree and oil light stays on. SO I checked the oil and added a bit, not that a bit low should be the problem but it wasn't. So i got a new sending unit, put it on and still the same problem.

I do not see removing the pan to be such a big deal but the pictures of the oil pump drive show a drive shaft, coupler and a drive gear. If I was to pull the pump from below, does this gear and all the rest of the mechanicals drop with it as well?

I read somewhere here about someone changing an oil filter to resolve the problem, I'm off to the store right now.

could be a bad wire. the first thing you need to do is to see if the oil pump is moving oil. 2 ways of doing this. pulling the oil pressure sensor and getting a test kit to check oil pressure. the other is to pop the valve cover off and see if oil is getting to the rockers and what not. however, it doesnt tell you how much pressure there is.

UPDATE: Disconnecting the pressure sensor wire the light still remains on. Looking on my RealOEM wiring diagram this does not seem to be possible since the BR/GN oil pressure wire is looking for a normally closed or grounded condition to illuminate the light. Me thinks the problem is electrical...
