Thank You Bimmerfest!

Hi! As a long time lurker, i will like to take this first post to show my appreciation to this forum which contained lots of infomation that has helped in planning the trip.

Special thanks to John Lance and especially Annette from ED winter tires who really got out her way and helped to get someone to stay late when I was late in returning the winter tires due to traffic… Thumbs up for the excellent service!

Also thanks to Rolf for picking us up at the airport and gave us a good introduction on the city of Munich. It’s a shame as there are a lot of other places that we are not able to visit due to itinerary constraints. Will recommend his services to anyone!

Oh No.... Got caught!! .. Will compensate with more pictures of the trip!

Took delivery on 5/12 and came back 5/20. So its just a 1+ week trip.
5/11: Munich
5/12: Munich Delivery - Nurburgring - Munich
5/13: Fussen Day Trip
5/14: Munich - Venice via Grossglockner
5/15: Venice
5/16: Venice - Munich via San Bernadino Pass
5/17: Munich - Paris
5/18-5/20: Paris

Distnace travelled: 4000km

I guess that this is not really a optimised trip time for some people some days are mainly driving days... but it works for me as i wanted to spend more time with the machine across the back country roads... Well most sights can wait when we visit the main cities again(with wife's blessings of course!)... eheh..

didn't seem you optimized your trip at all!!

you went north, then you went all the way south, then you drove up north again in Paris !!

I would have imagine this be a better way:

Munich, Fussen, Venise, Nurb, Paris...

So abotu 500kms - 600kms per day? Was that OK or did it seem like too much?

Ha ha ha! It was a driving holiday! Drive!!!!
We did 2400 km in 6 days on mostly back roads with frequent stops for hikes. It felt reasonably relaxed with comfortable driving days.

I see you had sunny weather on the Grossglockner. We weren't so lucky.

Oh it's Mineral White actually... But still white is the color to go!

YEh man.. actually was intending to go the route u suggested... but Nurburgring is the odd one out but i found out that the ring wasnt opened for tourist on the day i intended to visit(didnt check on my part) Otherwise it would have been a round trip.

There are actually 4 days of solid driving from morning to night and i think i covered almost 700 km a day i think.. Otherwise the rest was spent sight seeing

Venice to Munich
Munich - Paris

For those who are anxiously waiting and interested in redelivery dates.. This my timeline:

5/20: Drop off Paris
6/18: Liner Discharged Brunswick
6/19: WW website indicated CUSTOMS RELEASE/LINER RELEASE/DELIVERED FROM
6/22: BMW ED Department indicated still VPC undergoing inspection
6/25: BMW ED Department indicated Tires needs to be changed due to minor scratches (my fault actually.. noted at drop off)
6/28: PCD Scheduled
