Smile Z3 rear suspension springs

Hi everyone, looking for some help/advice. I have a 1999 T Reg Z3M Roadster and it has just failed its MOT on a broken rear suspension spring. Been quoted 150+vat for a BMW only part, is the 2000 3.0 litre model suspension spring any different to that on the 3.2 1999 model, spoke to a few places and no one seems to know. I can pick up a pair of springs for 80 for the 3.0 2000 but it would be pointless if they are not suitable.
Can anyone advise me on this please.
To save money I am thinking about tackling the replacement myself with some help of course, is it an easy thing to take on? Any advice on the best way to replace the springs would be appreciated.
Thanks
Peter, Scotland

Easy to change out springs, just make sure you replace them in pairs, and NO the Z3 3.0 rear springs will NOT be the same as a Z3M though they will fit, they will not give you the same ride height or spring rate. It's a good opportunity to get some performance springs and struts all the way around!
