EML light? And no idle speed

Hi everyone im new to the forum and i have a problem with my 2004 E46 325i. When I put the key in the ignition and turn it to the 2nd postion A ''check engine soon" light comes on and right next to it is a "EMl" light. After driving for about 30 minutes the DSC, brake, and ABS light all came on and the car wouldnt even go idle speed when i took my foot off the brake. The car also sound like it was straining when i accelerated. And the windows would roll up and down very slowly and the radio was playing very softly and turning off and on. So i shut off the car and tried to turn it back on but it would turn on. Any one have any idea what is wrong with my car?

Sounds like your battery or alternator going bad
But usually the battery light comes on too,
That's my guess, does it make any noice or responce if you try to turn it on?
Other festers' will chime in if I'm wrong (most likely I am lol)

there is no battery light, i just replaced the battery several days before this happened. When i try to turn it on there is a clicking noise and all the lights flash, but it doesn't turn on.

Battery or alternator. Need to do the necessary tests to figure out which one. Start with OBC hidden dash functions to monitor the voltages under different conditions.

Took it to a shop, they said it was the alternator. They only want $340 to put it in so I'm having them do it.
