BMW Remote Unlock Doesn't Work. Help Please

I have two remote keys main and spare. Spare works fine and I can perform all functions Lock/Unlock/Open Boot Door.

However, with main key UNLOCK does not work. Lock and Boot door opens fine. Any clue?

Assuming you do not have Comfort Access, have you tried recharging the offending fob by driving with it in the dash?

This just started happening to me today. When I locked my car, I heard as I was walking away a weird lock motor noise (almost as if the lock got stuck), but it locked the door. Didn't think much of it, went to lunch and when I came back, my unlock button worked for all the locks except the driver door. Nothing worked (even pulling the handle from the inside). Only thing that worked was taking out the valet key and manually unlocking. Once inside, as I drive, the doors automatically lock. I then tried pulling the handle from the inside and that lifted the lock. However, when arrived at my destination and tried to lock the car with the remote, I noticed all the doors locked except for the driver door. I then tried to unlock and that worked again, but that was it. After that, I couldn't lock the car again... what happened?? Anyone else experience this? I have a 2007 328i (no Comfort Access).

Which means the general module and the receiver in the car are working fine.

Confirming that the key's battery and radio transmitter are working well enough to send a clear signal to the car.

Yes - either the Unlock button/switch is physically damaged or the key is out of sync with the car. The security system uses a rolling code to recognize the key. The code must be within a range of expected values from the transmitting key, based on the last successful unlock code sent by that key. If it is outside that range, the general module won't unlock the car. (It accepts a range to allow for missed codes generated by pressing the button while the key is out of range of the receiver.)

Try this procedure to re-sync the keys:

http://vmkautolocksmith.co.uk/downlo...key_resync.pdf

Note well: Have ALL YOUR KEYS handy. When you re-sync one you clear them all so you must reprogram them all in succession. If you cannot re-synchronize the keys, you're off to the dealer to have the offending key diagnosed or replaced.

Checked the fuses in my car after doing more research on the forum. Fuse 57 was blown. Went to NAPA, got a new fuse and replaced it. Tried again and still nothing. Then I tried the re-sync key trick:

insert remote
start engine
turn engine off
press/hold lock while pressing unlock 3 times quickly

I then got out of the car, locked the doors and SUCCESS!!

Figured I'd post the steps I took here in case anyone else comes across this problem in the future. A lot of other posts recommended switching that fuse with a 20A fuse (it's originally 15). I didn't do that as I know better than to put a higher amp fuse on something with lower amp, but others say that's another option.

Clearly a cyber attack, a competitor's covert ruse or Obama admin's relentless campaign: persuade all to buy GM.

You are a victim, sir, but help is at hand! Just visit your local BMW dealer; state your case.
