My 2013 535xi Build - How does this look?

Hi guys,

Getting very close to put my order in at my Bmw dealership. I've been waiting for months to the 2013 info to come out! Coming from a 2009 Msport 335 the F10 should be a huge upgrade in terms of comfort and luxury.

So far this is what my build is going to look like:

2013 535Xi - $55,400
Space Grey Metallic - $550
Black Nappa Leather - $1,000
Aluminum Hexagon Trim - NC
ZCW Cold Weather Package - $950
ZMP M Sports Package - $2,900
ZPP Premium Package - $1,500
ZTP Technology Package - $2,800
Dynamic Damper Control - $1,000
Sports Transmission - $500
Rear View Camera - $400
Multi-Contour Seats - $1,300
Park Distance Control - $750
Premium HiFi System - $875

MSRP comes out to $69,925 according to the documents posted on bimmerpost and surprisingly 2K cheaper than what my 2012 build looked like. The only two options that I am on the fence about is the Soft close doors and Ceramic controls. Not sure if Nappa is also the best idea since I am also expecting a baby girl in a few months but it looks so much more rich compare to dakota leather. Just want to make sure i'm not leaving out something critical on my build!

Thanks!
Alan

I second this.. I did tried all sources to get the softclose doors.. People might talk you down but these doors needs real good bang to close whihc i dont like!

and also Ceramic Controls, Nappa they are BIG must in my books! here is the order

Nappa> SoftClose > Ceramic controls

Is the "Electronic Damping Control" different than the "Dynamic Damper Control" included in the Dynamic Handling Package? bmwconfig does not let you choose both, so i assume it is the same.

Why would you not get the Dynamic Handling Package which includes the Adaptive Drive (http://www.bmw.com/com/en/insights/t...e_drive.html)? It seems as if this feature goes a long way to smoothing out your drive, but I am ordering my first BMW myself, so I am not speaking from experience. Would love if others would chime in about this, I have to make the same decision soon.

Thanks.

^^ Mainly because the DHP is a $3500 package compared to $1000 for just the Dynamic Damper Control which is what i really want. The DHP comes with the Active Roll bar Stabilization which i don't need.

Man you guys now got me thinking about adding the soft close doors....Back into 70K range for a 535

Exclamation Must-Get BMW Accessories

1. Keep the Comfort seats -- you and your wife will appreciate them as you split shifts, and spend a few nights a week sleeping in a comfy, quiet vehicle.

2. BMW rear plastic seat covers. Consult the 1950's catalog or PDF online--they still look sweet, and WORK! All season rubber mats will help for those inevitable rasberries, and feeding and burping. $2500

3. BMW diapers with baby blue or pink roundel velcro seals. Pack of 25, $250

4. BMW nylon diaper-line--easily hooks into the garmant hangers above the rear passenger windows. (BMW recommends operating your vehicle with the sun-/moon-roof and windows wide open, even in the dead of winter, and the incessant use of the air filtration system.) $100

5. BMW nappa leather travel bag--to carry all the baby stuff in style, man! $200

6. BMW child restraint and contoured, heated baby seat system, with cushioned steering wheel and electronic black panel-padded dashboard, with variable backlighting. $2000

7. BMW binky (choice of flavors)--snaps into rear console cigarette lighter, which warms the units to a delightful temperature for hours of tasty pleasure. $25

8. Order the complete package, using the code ZBB, which is the "Baby-on-Board" package, at the discount price of $4500, from the total retail price of $5075.

Great Build, BTW--soft close doors is an excellent suggestion.

CONGRATZ on the new additions to the family!!!

Soft close doors on my f10 are probably one of the best features...highly recommended if available.

x100 on the soft-close doors.

BMW added it on the E70 RIGHT after I got my car.

No opinion on the ceramic controls, seems to be a rather minor hardly noticeable upgrade for a lot of money. The soft close would be nice, don't have them but would like, just not high on the list - ours are grown and gone - with yours starting might be a good choice. Now to the meat, re: the ARS, since it looks like you go out to play every now and then - going by the SAT and DDC you might want to rethink the DHP. The effect of having the ARS is nothing short of phenomenal on the 11 model. There are three settings in the 11, normal, sport and sport+ (yes I know you have different names and an additional setting, so you'll have to convert - have not driven or memorized the new model settings yet) the difference is noticeable going into sport but almost gokart like in the sport+ mode. So if you like to play and want really flat cornering without compromising ride get the DHP you' never regret it.

The ceramic controls are not even close to being a "minor hardly noticeable upgrade" once you've sat in the car.

Just got back from my dealer to order my F10!!

You guys convinced me to add the soft close doors to my final specs for the car.

2013 535Xi - $55,400
Space Grey Metallic - $550
Black Nappa Leather - $1,000
Aluminum Hexagon Trim - NC
ZCW Cold Weather Package - $950
ZMP M Sports Package - $2,900
ZPP Premium Package - $1,500
ZTP Technology Package - $2,800
Dynamic Damper Control - $1,000
Sports Transmission - $500
Rear View Camera - $400
Multi-Contour Seats - $1,300
Park Distance Control - $750
Premium HiFi System - $875
Soft Close Doors - $600

I was playing around with the soft close doors at my dealer for nearly an hour comparing it to cars that didn't have it. I must admit the F10 doors did feel more tingy and less solid feeling compared to my previous bmw's in the past which sounded like closing a bank vault. I didn't care for slamming my own doors in the F10 so opted for the option. Like you guys mentioned this should come in handy when my newborn is here and you don't want to wake her up from a nap.

According to my dealer all 2013 orders placed now won't go into production until July for mild August delivery. Going to be a long summer for me!

Alan

Hmm...interesting news from my dealer

He's having trouble adding the "Dynamic Damper Control" as a standalone option in their system. It won't let him pick it and it makes him select the full DHP instead. He's going to contact BMW AG to see whats going on since the order sheets clearly shows the DDC option is available for 1K instead of the full DHP for $3500.

I'm also noticing that I cannot select the Heads Up Display as a standalone option for the 550i on the bmwconfig website and that the only way to obtain it is through the $4500 Executive Package :-(. How annoying, I already have a Sirius subscription...

Soft close doors! It's the only option I regret not getting! Had it for over 10 years and now I don't and I always leave my door open.

I don't know where you are on the east coast, but if you have not done it already, see if you can get the drive for team usa event done. They are having it in Delaware (Wilmington area) on the 19th, and you get a certificate for 1000 off. I am not sure if it's good only at that dealer or if it's good at any dealer, but it might be worth it.

I was going to place an order this week but my SA told me to hold off until after the 19th so he could save me some money.
