2012 X5 35i with M-Pack - Interior Noises

I am having some frustration with my new X5. At certain times and under uneven road conditions (but sometimes under ideal conditions), I hear a significant amount of popping and creaking coming from somewhere around the B-pillars. If I actually press on the pillars (the area below the seatbelt), there is some flex and the plastic creaks a bit. Does not happen all the time, so I am really not sure if the areas are not seated properly. Has anyone else had this experience?

Thanks in advance.

Near certain you have the same problem I had . . . a known issue and BMW has a procedure for it . . . involves adding a Teflon tape . . . here is what they did for me

That solution worked for nearly 18 months then the noise came back . . . a few days ago they removed the old Teflon tape and installed a new one plus adjusted the front passenger door (that is where the noise was coming from). Not sure how long this will last.

An easy check - lower the window about a quarter inch from the side/door where the noise is coming from . . . you may pick up some wind noise, but the popping/creaking sound should disappear. Also, in my case, this noise was never there at hwy speeds. Easiest way to reproduce this noise was to go over a speed bump at about 5 mph - one tire at a time . . . i.e. go over the bump at an angle so one tire hits the bump first.

Here is another thread related to this issue . . .

Have the same. Seems a trim issue. Haven't brought in yet as noise isn't too bad. Let me know what happens.
