2001 740i trunk latch issues

Installed a new battery and now the trunk will not shut and the electric latch will not engage and the trunk will not latch. I tried the master key to the left to clear the stop per the owners manual, but it does nothing and the latch will not close the trunk. Suggestions?

Click on your name (left side of page) in any of your posts...and you'll see a pull down list appear. In that list is a link that says "find all posts by my blue 740il". When you click that link, it will pull up all of your posts...search thru the list of your posts for the reply that you seek and click on it.

Once your old reply comes up...you can either copy the URL (from your browser's URL box)...or you can right-click on the post # (look at the upper right of your reply) and you will get an option to "copy this link's location". Once you've copied a post directly to your reply...or to the whole thread...you can just paste it into your current reply and the forum's software will automatically turn it into a clickable link.

Here's your reply to seven40il: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...28&postcount=2
