Brake Pedal Pulsation at Full Stop

2013 X3 28i. It was raining all day in our area today. In way to my dealership to resolve another issue, I felt a slight pulsation (2-3seconds each time) from the brake pedal while the car was fully at stop behind red light and the engine running! it happend a few times. This feels similar to the sensation of the ABS in action, albeit much weaker. The strange thing is it is happening when the car is completely at stop! Anyone has experienced this behaviour before?

Wipers working? Any correlation?

It is interesting that you bring this up. Yes, the wipers were working at the time and I felt there was a correlation between the movement of the wipers and the feeling of the pulsation on the brake! But how could that be??

There should be threads about this in the E90 section as it was discussed there at length. I've never noticed it in my car, but others clearly have. Some people think it is attributable to the system that intermittently applies the brakes lightly when the rotors are wet -- that this system is linked to the wipers. That's a possibility, I guess, but it seems more like a mechanical interference of some kind.

After a few tests and doing some research on the web, I tend to think the cause is probably mechacincal transfer of vibration from the wipers to the pedal. Will bring the issue up with my dealer to see what their response is.
