I tried venturing out onto the observation deck for a few pictures but got wind-blown right off the darn thing.

Stupid site defaults (actually, no, because a lot of non-public stuff goes up there). Thought I had set that properly.

Should be better now.

Tell me about it! Diane and I were going at about a 60 degree angle to the direction we were trying for. Her glasses were nearly taken right off her face. The wind really started tearing when you came out of the lee of the tower.

Those were fairly typical conditions on a good day, and are not unusual at the height of the Summer. People have been known to get down on all fours and crawl to avoid taking the fast route down.
All in all, the conditions were quite tolerable and just brisk enough to emphasize that we were the highest cars in the northeast USA. The snow was the perfect exclamation point, and btw, it was perfect for making a snowman but no one seemed interested.

For those who rejoined the CtoC after last year's disappointing (but very interesting) weather, it was a complete shock to see just how far you could see.

I had an envelope with 80 commemorative event postage stamps that were going to be passed out in the Sherman Adams building for the event postcards. The wind blew them out of my hand. Professor Cook retrieved the envelope but it was empty by the time he got to it.

We ventured out because John is fascinated with taking pictures of me with my hair blowing out straight from my head. He kept telling me to quit moving from where I was standing until I explained to him to do that I was going to have to hold on to the railing with both hands. It took me 5 minutes to brush the tangles out!

I think a snowgoat would have been more appropriate. Either way, fail.

There was much of that going around, both on the top and in the room with the brush later !

Tremendous thanks to my daughter for doing the edit. None of my software was handling the camera phone video, so she ran it through hers. Drove her crazy for a bit until she figured out the phone was using square pixels, after which things worked out nicely.

Yeah, they've bulked up a lot. Lots of room inside, but the flattened windshield view makes it oddly claustrophobic.
The car in front of Zooks was to fast for him to keep up. I did not know that my car went that fast up Mount Washington.

And this is the thanks I get for courteously allowing DSX to take a picture of your car without a Ford drafting behind you ....

Ask my wife. The whole way up I was yelling "The pedal on the right!" out the window.

Woohoooo!!! Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Weekend!!!

Finally had a chance to get to the thread since leaving C2C4 last weekend. Let me start by saying what a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Weekend. It was spent with great people with their ultimate driving machines. OK OK Zooks527, I will drop it down a notch! I have proof that you actually did have a Bimmer last year, so you get a pass!!! All jokes aside, it was a great weekend and I had a BLAST. Thank you to DSXMachina, Furby076, Captainaudio, ProfessorCook, Nordic Kat (coming from so far) and many more...

It was great seeing a bunch of new faces as well as faces from years' past.

The best part of it all is doing it for a good cause!!

See you all next year for C2C5! I have a hunch that next year will be BIGGER and BETTER! Can we start planning from now???

I cheated a bit on the top shot. There were actually 22 cars in the top shot. I filled in an empty parking space near the right side and I replaced the Taurus with a BMW.

The shot of the Hotel is as it came out of the camera with no cropping and very slight lighting and color correction.

If I take the names that did not claim swag bags off my list I have 23 cars including 2 Porsches.

The Taurus was the 7th car from the left. I removed the Taurus, copied the 3rd BMW from the left, flipped it left to right to have it lined up with the cars it would be inserted between, repainted it's shadow to match the others, changed the color slightly and removed the moon roof to make it look a bit different than the car it was cloned from.
