2003 745Li Driver's side HID headlight dim/yellow than other side

I replaced the factory HID bulbs with aftermarket D2S bulbs, however, driver's side seem to be missing the blue tint when compared to the passenger side.. I moved the ballast around but driver's side still the same. I think this was happening before I changed out the bulbs. Anyway I ordered another set of bulbs to try. Any thoughts? Has anyone had this issue?

Maybe the ignitor? Also, the name isnt coming to me right now, but there are two boxes under the headlights ( one on each side) that may be going out? Those are all the components to the HID..

you mean ballast?

it might be from the ballast but I have noticed on many 7s that one side is a bit green and the other a bit bluish. you will get over it in a few months

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...24&hg=63&fg=05 Part 1. But im not sure if it gives off symptoms when its going out, or it plain either just works or doesnt work... Just giving some ideas, as this has never happen to me.

Most likely got a different K bulb (not a matching pair).

To add to my original post, I swapped the square box (I think it's the ballast) that is twisted onto the back of the bulb, to the other side to see if the color difference moved to the passenger side, but it didn't. Anyway, I am waiting on the new set of D2S 8000K bulbs.

muggzytx - Thanks for the schematics... This can get expensive...I'll keep everyone posted on my findings. Thanks everyone for your input.

Ok so I got a new set of 8000K D2S bulbs.. same thing
I think I have to look at the other parts (schematics provided by muggzytx) that make of the HID system.. I'm getting a used control unit and the electronics box for $150 from someone that's parting out the a 7 series. I am thinking about buying both, but I could be in the same predicament.

Shows the 2004 uses D2S.. Not sure what the differences are.
