Bluetooth doesn't disconnect when the car is shutdown and locked?
Had this not happened in front of me, I would have thought my wife was crazy.
She was on the phone when she drove into the garage talking through the car. She shut it down, got out, locked the door and you could still hear the person through the cars inside speakers. Unlocked the car, pressed the start/stop button again which cut the accessories back on, pressed it again, got out, and locked again, same thing. Tried locking with the remote and the touch sensor. Finally had to just end the call and call the person back. Are we missing a setting or something? Seems odd it would stay connected after its turned off and locked. Phone is a HTC Incredible on Verizon. Car has the Technology Package. |

It's not a mistake, it's a feature.
The car assumes that when you end your trip and stop the car that you want to keep talking, not the inverse. As such, you can continue to talk for a few minutes until you use the phone to turn Bluetooth off. Logic being that the car shouldn't decide that the call should transfer; the phone should make that decision. BJ

That would make sense if it then disconnected once the keys were outside and the car is locked. Is that on purpose also?

I assume you don't need to turn bluetooth off, just switch the output back to the handset. That can probably be done in as little as two button presses on some phones. I wonder when the car is supposed to cut off the BT though if it is supposed to have gone to sleep mode (locked car)

Works the same way on my E92. If I remember correctly, once you get out of range of the Bluetooth, it reverts back to the phone.

Yeah, the issue is our attached garage. We're never out of range.

This feature had embarrassed us, when our car (not a BMW) was in a shop for inspection. I tried to call my wife from the waiting room, made a few attempts without success, had a few bad choices of words as a result, only to realize my cussing was all routed through the 11 premium sound speakers in the car, heard by everyone in the garage.
Luckily the mechanics didn't mind it. Imagine it happens during a job interview or first date.
