Canadian Tire Inspection...
So my M3 and my dad finally arrived in Canada and I got to drive it for the first time, a few blocks ha ha
just because of the insurance and such. But anyways I have done everything that I can do with importing the car, but today when I went to get the inspection done at Canadian Tire they found a "problem". The "problem" is a Rear Axle seal on the passenger side is gone and the driver side is going. Now I bought this car from a member on this site and he had a pre-buy inspection done on the car and BMW themselves said that the drivetrain and everything mechanical were in perfect condition. To top it all of its an 08 with 18k miles on it. So what I'm asking is, do these seals and bearings go quite regularly, you know every few thousand miles! And should I even trust Canadian Tire to do this type of work? I cant really go to a BMW dealership because I dont have insurance that would cover it but I do have a local mechanic that I could take it to, to see if it is even going. But I kind of have to follow with whatever Canadian Tire says because it needs to pass the inspection so I can register it. Just seems like theyre trying to scam me. Ive always done work to my own vehicles but I don't dare touch this car, I think its quite out of my league for anything to do with the tranny. |
