2.2 holds its revs at 2000rpm while gear changing

hello , newby here, my Z3 2.2 revs dont come down when I depress the clutch to change gear, they come down but far to late and this makes my gearchanging very slow.
Is ther a vacuum pump stuck or something ?

Question

Thanks, to tell you the truth its just like the old SU dash pot problem, I can remember using brasso metal scrub inside the pot to make it smooth. But no, I think its an electric sensor throttle, quite strange, today changing into 3rd gear at 3400 rpm, it stayed there, a second before it falls , and then i can go to 4th, very awkward engine rev fall.

Does your car have the dreaded clutch release check valve? You symptom sounds like it might have this valve which BMW says reduces polution. ???? If so, you can remove it and screw the clutch hydralic line into the slave cylinder. You will have to beed the clutch when you are done.

A little-known detail about the 1996-1999 M3/MZ3 3.2l (including Euro cars) is that they too have this part. Similar to the affliction of the E46 and E39, except this valve only seems to affect cars with aftermarket lightweight flywheels. Due to the quick-revving nature of these setups, the slow-down of the check valve causes momentary excessive clutch slippage. A particular example is a "power shift" where the revs hang for a moment before fully engaging. M3s with the 3.0l engine do not have this part, nor do any other E36.
