Tire Rotation, Yes, I think so BMW

I have approx 16k running 255/55/18 MIchelin RFT, tires have become extremely noisy
as of lately, took the vehicle to the dealer to confirm it was not a wheel bearing issue, dealer said tires were cupped on the front and needed new tires , took the vehicle to an authorized Michelin dealer today, dealer recommended ROTATING the tires even though BMW says no and roadforce balancing all the tires, had it done, can not hear the noise any longer and NO vibrations of any kind, to top it off the tire dealer did not charge me anything whatsoever so when new tires are needed I will be buying my tires from them as they will match Tire Rack pricing ,include free rotation every 5k for the life of the tire in addition to a free road hazard policy, by the way my tires are still at 7/32 on all four
wheels.

This is a big "duh"... oif course you should rotate.

The only reason bmw recommens against it is due to the fact that they'd need to see the cars every 5-7k to rotate for free, and they'd just as soon let you wear them out early on your dime.

I have 7K on my Bridgestone Duelers so should I rotate before a 2K trip that starts this weekend?

I've been rotating mine during and in-between oil changes, so about every 5,500-6,000 miles.
Rotating at 7,000 miles would be a good idea IMHO if you like to extend the life of the tire.

I've got the original 18" Bridgestone Duelers that came with the vehicle. With 30,000 (mostly highway) miles on them, it looks like I'll be getting another 15-20,000 miles from them.

I would highly recommend it, at the very minimum get the rears which will now become the fronts road force balanced, also do not forget the tire pressure is different front to rear , assuming you do not have staggered size tires.

Also , since I did not rotate before 16 k and caused some cupping, should I rotate again in another 6-8k or just let the tires go at this point.

First, I am amazed that you are getting that many miles out of the Bridgestones.

Second, in my haste I failed to mention that I have 20s and the fronts are 275 (275/40R20) and the rears 315 (315/35R20). So does one still do the limited version of rotation with these tires?

Most of the miles (80+%) are highway miles, so I think that explains partly the longevity. Or maybe I drive like a grandma

Based on the tire info, you can't rotate front-to-back. I don't know about side-to-side
