Strange rubbing sound when turning?
So I've just had the engine replaced in my 02 X5. Before it went to the shop it ran like a top (no strange noises anywhere) minus the blown head gasket. I get it back with a refurbed 3.0 and now when I go thru a turn, it makes a sound like maybe the control arms or bushings?
Didn't know if any of the suspension has to come off when performing an engine removal on one of these and possibly the shop not reinstalling it right? Thanks for any responses.

Good day,
My first guess would be the sway bar end links... But that will always be my first easy guess as I got my X5 needing them... They make one heck of a rattle over rough roads at the slower speeds... I think you should take it back and have them drive with you in the co-pilot seat... Make a note when you hear it and tell him it wasn't like that before they replaced the motor... Good Luck!! Cheers!! |

Thanks. When the Mrs. gets home today, it's going on the jack and I'll look there first.
