A/c

my 2001 325i has an ac problem. seems the compressor shuts down (a/c doesn't blow cold) when driving in the rain. Anyone have a similiar problem? What is causing it?

Thanks,

I got something odder than that, when hot air blows on the passenger vent, mild temp (not cold but cooler than pass. vent) and hissing noises when a.c is pushed max.

Two ways to approach this issue:

1) Get a can of refrigerant from you local autoparts store with a guage on it. Read the instructions and fill till guage reads OK.

2) The better way, if you have no knowledge of the AC system, take it to a professional.

Thanks,
A lot of reasons may cause this. I put some diagnostic info in my topic here:

A/C problems

Do you think my outside temp gauge, if faulty, could cause this to happen considering the temp change(rain)?

I am not sure if this sensor participates in the decision process to engage A/C compressor. In any case it is a guess game and it is really hard to say what is wrong w/o comprehensive investigation like I've done in my topic.
