E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Questions about 2010 vs. 2011/2012

I am looking into buying a 135i M sport and have a couple questions about difference between the 3 years and hopefully someone can give me some better insight then just reading around about it.

I know they switched the turbo between the 2010 and 2011 and I was wondering if there was a difference or if one is better than the other? Anyone have a preference as to which they like or is there no difference at all?

I am not looking to go MOD crazy on the car as I have done that in the past with a GTO and its just not worth the money and time in the long run. I do however want to get a nice tune and exhaust for the car so I was wondering if there is a difference in mod-ability between the different years of the car?

If there is any other insight you feel would be worth my while please feel free to share with me, the more information I have the better!!! Thanks for the help!

you have to get 2011 or newer. 2010 has old transmission, 2011 onwards has double-clutch. night and day difference. ill never get a car without double-clutch ever again!

I'm not looking to get a automatic so the dual clutch doesnt apply, unless I'm mistaken and you can have a dual clutch on a manual car??

There seems to be more modification experience with the n54. It is also what BMW used in the 1M. But the future is the n55.
