E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993. |

I have annoyed the e30 gods
So I have automatic email searches set up for the latest car listings everyday just to see what's out there. Not seriously looking to buy, i like my car but sometimes think about getting something different. Anyway this morning I was looking through the listings and saw a couple of cars I might go and have a look at. Although I am not seriously interested you never know... after all what harm could it do?
![]() Bam an hour or so later I go to leave the house and my keys have disappeared. Not your average lost my keys find them 10 minutes later. I thought I locked them in the house so I got back inside and have been searching for over an hour, missed my lecture, they are nowhere to be seen, I have searched everywhere thrice! I even checked the microwave. Please give my keys back. I swear e30's are cursed sometimes. Anyone else had any similar experiences? Last edited by tim96; 06-07-2012 at 07:17 PM. |

Doesn't hurt to try to get something more comfortable but don't make the mistake of selling your car and then buying another car. Have a moment of both in the same garage. Otherwise nostalgia might bite. |

well, i can't lose my keys since they are normally attached to my waist. but ..
i had a 325e with over 350k on the ODO, it went 5 years with no maintenance, not even an oil change. after over a year of DD use (in that condition) it was still running perfect. 1 week out of the blue i came across a deal i couldnt pass up. i purchased 3 e30's (in 1 day). 4 days after purchasing those 3 cars .. the headgasket on my 325e blew up and toasted the motor. coincidence ? unlikely.

funny, i have been driving the work Mondeo lately, and brought a Mercedes two days ago. Went to start the e30 after not paying it any attention and its running rough then came right and been sweet. that may be just a reminder though, it is currently not used because i have take the bumpers and bonnet off to be repainted

Mine will run like a champ some days and then like an old hag the other days, same thing with my sister's eta. E30s are more moody than women, in fact my friends call my car the German Bitch.

i think it all cars that do it. i had an old ford pickup started fist try, ran smooth for a year straight. then i go and get a second car, 2004 subaru forester xt, and for no reason the entire charging system craps out on the truck. every time i drove the subaru more often the truck would stop working.

Last night went out to head to the store and my left hid headlight would not turn on. So I took my ballast out and tried to put it on the right to see if it was the bulb, nothing so I put the original back on nothing.. Plugged the left side back in and nothing. got tired of messing with it walked away came back and they worked again. |

See!! BMW's are only human and get jealous. Also E30's are real good mates with the Key Pixies (who hide keys as a job and pull wires off as a hobby).
