Sorry. Needed a place to vent.

I wouldn't even engage in a debate with anyone on the internet dude, it doesn't matter there opinion on your car...its your car not theirs

Agreed, debate on the internet is a waste of time.

If they are bothering posting about your car it's probably because they are interested in purchasing it, thus the attempts at trying to devalue your car...

Look the whole thing about your threads on BF.c is price. Because lets face it you can go out and get an E34 for cheap thats just how it is. Thats just how the markets are. The people at BF.c just think its funny because most of them know what they are talking about, and they really know what they are worth.

Lets review....

YOU started a thread asking for advice on selling your car. YOU did not listen to those with experience, you choose to argue with them. How did you expect that to work out for you?

Quote:
1. Wheels and tires are NOT cheap. I don't consider $1,000+ for wheels and $600+ for tires cheap.
Ever price new BMW wheels? They are twice as much as the ones on your car for a reason, quality. $600 for four tires is expensive? Maybe on the stock 15" rims but you can easily expect to pay double that for a set of real tires from Michelin, Dunlop, Bridgestone etc. The tires on your car ARE cheap. Not meant as a slam, just the facts.

Quote:
2. How is it lowered in the worst possible way? I'm sorry not all of us can afford $1600 GC coilovers. Plenty of E34 guys on BF are running NEX coils.
Some just think that if not done correctly, it shouldn't be done at all. The NEX set-up is a liability for the car.

Quote:
3. How does a tear in the drivers seat=trashed interior?
Multiple tears in the drivers seat, and seams splitting on the rear seat... what would you call that? Pristine? Mmmmmm maybe not, trashed seems appropriate. Again, it is what it is, why take offense?

Quote:
4. I guess the mods on my car are "boy racer" type. So yeah, any of you with a chip, exhaust, lowered, aftermarket wheels - you have boy racer mods and drive the living piss out of your car *sarcasm*
No wheels yet but I do have a chip and exhaust and I do drive the snot out of my car everytime it leaves the garage. You are missing out on a wonderful life experience if you are driving your BMW like grandpa

If you wont discuss the price, how do you expect to sell the car? The price will not increase using your force of will. The Bayern wheels with crap tires are only worth 4-500 as pointed out to you. No matter what you do it is a 3000 car, maybe 3500 with both sets of wheels. That is just reality dude, not meant to be personal.

As much as you are taking it personally about the car, it sounds as if you don't want to sell it. I don't know what anyone is saying about whatever, but here is a universal constant. OE and pristine= $. A virgin has value to all people. A whore has as much value as she can work.

The rest is just noise. Aftermarket anything doesn't increase the value except with a select group of impoverished dickheads without a nickle to their name.

Whatever you can do to improve the condition, like patching the seat, will help. Just focus and get'er done and she'll sell fine.

http://www.wheelwarehouse.com/p-4128...app-black.aspx

The PO bought the wheels brand new in 2011, so they aren't some marked up, scraped up hunk of junk.

Worth 4-500? Try $1,000. More expensive than the all so desirable M-Parallel's and M-System's (two of my favorite wheels for the E34 btw)

And I agree. BF.com can be good if you aren't a thread starter, which isn't my case

And I'm pricing somewhat according to the prices I see other E34's in the area sell for.

Where you getting M systems for a grand new???

Last time I check new it was $410 a wheel..

Most guys that want E34 don't want black aftermarket rims on their car. Most people want them OEM, thats just how it is.. You make no sense you ask for help then either complain or argue about what is said. Either grow up and take some advice or don't post at all it's that simple.

You guys are right too... my dad had a friend who would buy old cars and put new tires on try to increase the sale price, car is worth what it's worth no matter what mods or wheels it has, you can't buy a car and put work into it and think that people are going to pay more just b/c you spent major cash on it. This isn't a house it's a car, a cars value drops signifignately year to year

Sums it up.

I'm there to help people while trying not to wave my dick around like some do.

As a BF.C member and a Fest.com member I can agree that both are different.

I like the Fest for it's a change of pace, and more laid back.
There also seems to be a more open and respectable overtone here which is cool.

But sorry... I can't bash BF.C.

Bimmerforum's crowd has definitely changed.
It's not as informative as it used to be.
(being that most if the useful info is mostly 2-3 years old)
As well it can be very clique-ish and it's members aggressive to challenge others.

However they are a family over there. Disfunctional perhaps, But a family none the less.
They always welcome new people. Most are always willing to help whenever possible.
And most debates (if read between the lines) are informative to some extent.

Though I can't defend the members or the topics which pissing contest get there beginnings from. What I can say is this.

If you do bring up a topic there (ie Angel Eyes or claim to be an expert on something)
You will be addressed.
Some may show interest.
Others may debate with you.
Some may even try to get a rise out of you.
You have to handle it accordingly or the Flaming will begin.

Grav.

I've read your thread there and was apart of your thread here.

Sell your car for what you want and discontinue the threads on both forums.
Most (including myself) have given you great advise on your car.
As well there has been some bashing.

Wheither you decide to take that advise and run with it is solely your decision.

If the market where you live dictates that price is reasonable.
Than go for it.

but to pit one forum vs another is kind of silly.

And all I want to do is get my car running nice and looking normal... E34 is just not worth spending all that extra dough on. Not likely to resell high enough for that type of investment.
