I bought them off eBay and they look great - but generate 2 error codes every time I start it and shut it off.

I'm curious too.. Ebay looks tempting!
Btw, if I wanna change my fog lamp from Standard to HID, do I need the ballast? or just the replacement bulb ?

These are just regular xenon bulbs though, not HID or LED. They wont throw a code, but wont give you the colour your looking for. I did the comparison in another thread with 8500K Xenon bulbs and the twin LED bulbs for my angel eyes. There was a huge difference. LED won hands down... but without resistors, they will throw codes. I found a local guy who can program the car and get rid of them though. I will do it next week.

Don't buy from E92 he will get your money and not send the correct stuff and then not reply to repeated emails, funny he will post here but not answer email. I have been waiting for the correct liscense LED since may 8th.

Ouch... sorry for your bad experience. I bought the incorrect license plate LED bulbs from e92 a couple of months ago (my fault), then purchased the right ones from e92, sending the other ones back for a refund. It took a couple of weeks to process, but I received the refund - no problems. I also bought fog bulbs from him last year, no problems. I wouldn't say he responds instantly to emails, but usually within 48 hours.

I was going the LED rout, but a buddy of mine with a 7 series said they are just not the same as a bulb. A lot less projection and not as bright. I took his advise...

coug - for the license plate LED's, I can confirm firsthand that the LED's are a little brighter and whiter than the stock BMW replacement bulbs for the license plate lights. I think it looks cleaner (and I also swapped out all of my angel eye and foglight bulbs for whiter/brighter looks). I'm happy with it and could take a pic later if you're interested.

For the life of me why would you want the license plate lights to be bright?

I don't want to give the camera's or the POPO any leg up on getting my data while on the run!!!!!

OK, you got me. I have lived by the straight and narrow, but I could be bustin' out soon!

I have thought about upgrading the fogs in my car several times but never really noticed the rear lights at all. Good info in this thread.
