M3 ED - June 14th

This will be my first ED, and looking for any input on my itinerary. The broad outline is as follows: Arrive Munich Friday AM, do factory tour and museum, Take delivery Saturday AM, and we are off from there: Down to Stelvio, San Bernadino and other passes, up to black forrest region, nurburgring, Wurzburg, Rothenburg, and back to Munich... all in 10 days. I know this is a lot and will be fast paced, will be myself and a friend (wife is staying home!). Definitely driving focused, and not so much on touring towns, etc.

Itinerary Details:
http://www.tripit.com/trip/public/id/EBB2A4B2D4B4

Map:
http://g.co/maps/puqjj

Car:
2012 M3 Coupe, Interlagos, MDCT, Speed Cloth, Carbon Trim, CA & Nav.

My CA is David Aviles (www.bmwdavid.com), who has been absolutely great to deal with. Easiest car buying experience ever.

Any input greatly appreciated!

Awesome trip! I appreciate the driving emphasis!

Will you reach the M3 1200 mile break-in period while in Germany? If so, are you planning on having your M3 serviced in Germany before you drive the Nordschleife?

Thanks!

I don't think I will do the service there... I don't plan to push it around the ring very hard, just do it once (maybe twice ) for the experience.

Trip was fantastic, itinerary worked out very well. 1,368 miles @ drop off. Drove the Stelvio, Susten, Grimsel, Furka, Gotthard, San Bernadino and Hahntennjoch passes. Car is perfect, only hiccup was about half way through the trip I started getting an "Increased Emissions" warning, which is probably due to a loose/faulty O2 sensor. Nurburgring was an amazing experience! I was definitely hesitant, but then I saw a family pull up to the gate in their beater wagon for a "Sunday drive 'round the ring" and I felt much better... Hit 150MPH on the straight on the last run! Can't wait to go back in a few years to pickup the wife's F31...

That looks like a great time. Makes me even more ready to get on a plane in two months.

I also dropped mine off on the 22nd, just before they closed. I saw yours there too. It's great to know they were picked up and delivered to Bremerhaven so soon. How did you find this info? TIA

Jraff,

Thanks for the pics. Best I've seen here of a trip. I especially appreciate the mountain pass takes. Helps me convince the GF we need to drive them! Lol.

Seriously, your eye for composition is ok in my book. Great looking car too. Congrats.

Ya, I get "No Records Found" using that website. Strange. I'd like to assume I was picked up along with yours though.

Yes, that was me. Had a absolute blast running the ring. I had my breakin service done in the south of France. I pushed it as hard as I could safely. What an amazing car. What an amazing day. We really lucked out with the rain that day too.

I see you spent some time running the passes in the Alps. I did the same. You took some amazing photos though, great job! I video taped most everything, including the ring.

Using your information, I see the earliest ship I can get would land in CA on the 25th of July. Looking forward to getting that thing parked in my garage.
