2006 X5 check low beam warning when I use fog lamps.
Occasionally I get a Check Low Beam Lights warning and then my headlights do not work. If I shut my truck off and restart they then work. This only seems to happen when I am driving with my headlights and fog lamps on. If my fog lamps are off, I don't get the Check Low Beam Lights warning and don't lose the use of my headlights. Has anyone had the same issue? Any trouble shooting suggestions?

Have you ever changed your battery? It could be an indicator of it going bad. It may not be keeping a current battery level.

Problem Resolved
I ended up taking it in to my mechanic. It turns out that the previous owner had replaced the headlight bulbs with non-OEM bulbs (manufactured in Hungary). They were not drawing current at a consistent level, which caused the fault. I replaced the bulbs with OEM's and no more problems.
