2009 BMW 750Li--Service Car Message
Sorry for such a minor question.
In May I purchased a CPO 2009 750Li with about 27,000 miles. The service message that comes on when the car is started said next service in 7000 miles or June, 2013 (figure the car had just been serviced, thus the long wait). I've had the car for 2 months now and put on a couple of hundred miles, but that message never changes. Neither the mileage or months decreases. I had a 2004 745 and I would watch those numbers (mileage and date) decrement down like watching an odometer...the miles would (over time) start approaching 0 and the months to service would get closer and closer. Do I have a problem or do these cars just require less and less service? Thanks for the consideration. |

Condition based service means: it should correspond to your driving style and miles driven. If you only had a couple of hundred miles over two months, the service interval wont budge! Which is correct.

Thanks
Thanks for the quick, helpful reply. And now that I've seen your pictures I'm going to try to come up with a question every few hours.
Seriously, much thanks. |

I just purchased a 2011 CPO F02 and I get a message for rear brakes in 6000 miles. I am like WTF? How can dealer CPO a car with so little on brakes. I still have 3 years of new car warranty so I don't care now.

My dealer just changed brakes on my car when I bought it, I can't wait for them to wear out since I want to change to better brakes with less brake dust! The factory brake produce the worst brake dust I have ever seen!

Really?? My 2010 750i and now my 2012 AH7 (both with Regenerative braking) produce almost ZERO brake dust. With past BMWs, Mercedes, Porsche, Range Rover...I could literally clean my wheels after a small drive...insane amount of brake dust. The F01 7 Series, for me at least, is virtually dust free!!

Yes my 2011 has no brake dust. On my E65 I used to get brake dust by backing out of garage.

Really? I know the dealer just did the brake before they sold it to me, I still clean my wheels everyday, and my daily commute is only 19 miles.

I easily can go 5-7 days w/o cleaning the wheels on my '12 AH7...and even then it takes maybe 2 mins or less, there is SO little brake dust!!

That's why! I always wondering if I have regen brakes since I don't have the charge gauge along side the instant mpg one.

On the topic of brakes, do you guys get occasionally squealing when coming to a full stop?

I have a 2009, lots of dust, I could live with that, but I took my car racing at a BMW driving school. the brakes feel like I warped a rotor, however i only feel the pulsing under moderate braking, i would expect to feel it the most under light braking. Over a period of 2 days we had 8 events on the track with about 15-20 - 125 mph to 40-60 mph at each track event.
on the great side, I embarrassed several corvettes, porsches and 3 series, amazing how well this car handled in the turns!
