You better not run....

This may be it! Any vehicle can now be disabled with a single ray gun blast....

Mounted on your friendly neighborhood smokey's bumper, is there any point to outrunning the cops? They'll soon be able to stop ya cold, from a distance.

Effective distance not mentioned. Yow!

I read the article the other day, and two major points stick out. First, this is a military grade technology. Second, don't fool yourself onto thinking that you can outrun the cops anyway.

In before the move. I believe Griot's already offers a paint protectant for this.

My question is, how many gallons of gasoline equivalent energy is needed to generate such lightning? The energy equivalent of the whole city use, may mean that the city police can use it to disable a car, but will not be able to afford to fuel its entire fleet of police cars for the rest of the year.

Time....let's go 4D on this. High wattage / very short interval not as many joules as wattage suggests.

Think: charged fast capacitor; suddenly ionized conductive gas. Set your phaser to stun, or use mass estimation algorithm & sensors to auto set your weapon. May already exist.

Move? What move?

Guess: Super Conducting Coat w/trailing ground acts as lightening rod and Faraday Cage.

Been watching Burn Notice.

BTW, I see BJ's back with us as promised. F30 forum, claiming Audi's S4 can't compete w/F30 'cause S4's not a luxury car.
