BMW ConnectedDrive Interest

I got 6NR and BMW Online for my 740Li 2 weeks ago from bimmer-tech.net . Works flawlessly and was relatively easy to install. So just send Patryk a mail and ask him what your retrofit options are.

Did you do the install yourself? What needs to be removed?

I did it myself. You need to remove the trunk trim to change the UHF (bluetooth) unit. Change the usb connector inside the compartment.

I also has to change a wire on the cic(so had to remove it), wire the microphone and bt antenna from trunk to the drivers side as i didnt have those options to begin with. I also had to change a plug on the USB Hub, which is located under the A pillar. a really weird location if you ask me.

But i think every car is different because of the options. It shouldnt take more than a weekend to install the hardware and have the car coded if you ask me.

NOT understanding how this is even possible, but I too was told no go on the Connected Drive. I always thought only production dates of September and beyond got the next years date, not barely into the year.

Is there a law against this practice?? I couldnt find any info about it anywhere.

Anyway...add me to the list of disgruntled customers, especially since all the 325 and 535loaners I get from BMW all have these cool features. Especially, the bluetooth audio from my phones. That is particularly awsome.

I will add that my overall experience with issues and BMW is not good. Its like they really dont care...too big to fail????
