Black Forest Recommendation?

I'm in Stuttgart at the moment and plan to drive to Lucerne tomorrow. Any suggestions on a scenic route through the Black Forest. Google maps gives me a couple options, but I'm clueless as to which is going to give me the best views.

Also, for anyone in the area that may be planning to drive between Munich and Stuttgart on A8 be prepared to be slowed down significantly. It seemed to me that about 30% of the route was under construction or being repaired.

Thanks!

Our favorite route is the B500, switching over to the 482 to go thru Baiersbronn. Time it for a lunch or dinner stop at the Schwarzwaldstube, an incredible restaurant . You'll probably need reservations, but is is worth planning the trip around the restaurant and the town.

The B500 was a nice road. We departed Baden-Baden heading over to Bodensee and stopped over for lunch in Triberg (Cucuko Clock center of Germany). Took a pleasant walk up the waterfalls park hiking trail with our bottle of wine, cheese, sausage and crackers. Afterward strolled through the cucuko clock stores and had a slice of delictable Black Forest cake & cappuccino for desert. Still can't get used to the German version of a cappuccino after tasting a real Italian version. All in all a quite enjoyable day.

If you've got the time, these back roads (or portions of them) are a nice, nice, nice, way to go.

Here's a taste of what they're like. Vid starts from Wehr - Pt A on the map.

We stayed in Ettlingen, at the northern edge of the Black Forest. Nice walled town with some Roman artifacts incorporated into the buildings. We drove to Marxell, home of the Fahrzeugmuseum. Then to Bad Herenalb, and then over the twisty road to Gernsbach. You could take a short drive to Gaggenau and visit the Unimog museum. You can then get on the beautiful B500 Schwarzwald Hochstrasse, drive to Hausach to see the Schwarzwald Modell Bahn. The next stop is Gutach to see the Vogtsbauernhof. The last stop is Furtwangen to see the Deutsches Uhrenmuseum. That should keep you busy for a few days...

we did a quick side tour after stopping in Freiburg for lunch. not much of a 'forest' per se, more of a forest around the 'ring

Thank you all for your input. We ended up going on the 500 from Freudenstadt to Baden-Baden and it was a gorgeous drive, with exception to the thick fog that lasted about 60% of the ride. I'd like to do that drive again someday in better weather. I also drove from Lucerne to Grindewald today on the Swiss A8 and that ride beats anything I saw in the Black Forest hands down.

If you just wanted a "taste" of the blackforest during a day of driving, would the area between Freudenstadt and Baden Baden be nice?
