Sunroof issues

1) I just bought a 2005 530i and I noticed that the sunroof glass does not open all the way. Is the glass supposed to open all the way?

2) when I want to close the sunroof it goes half way and opens up again? Any ideas on what that might be?

I have never worked on a 2005. But... the window opening back up when trying to close indicates it has some resistance that is too high and activating the safety mechanism to keep from trapping your head in the sunroof. If nothing is really physically wrong with the track, then often times a re-calibration is all that is needed.

Try this - depress the sunroof open/close button for about 30secs and see if it starts up an automatic cycle of opening and closing.

Thanks for the feedback? When u say depress do u mean pushing the switch forward or more downward?

Donu know if the glass is supposed to totally slide back ( where its not
Visible anymore)?

It opens "almost" completely. It always have like an inch or two that is visible. (Not the sunroof itself but more like the sunroof frame)

I don't know the switch in the 2005. Try it in every direction

Tried all 3 ways. Forward backward and pushed inward.
