Touch up paint
I have a 2006 325i that is dark blue. I am looking for touch up paint that works. I checked with the dealer and they wanted around $40 for a small tube. Has anyone found any cheaper alternatives?

Not if you want the BMW OEM paint. You could try maybe asking for a BMW CCA Discount? I suppose a paint shop could mix you up a small batch. Dunno how much that would cost.
I bought a BMW replacement bottle (including bottle of clearcoat) in Melbourne Red, it was maybe $30.00 IIRC. Here's Monaco Blue for $32.99: http://www.amazon.com/BMW-Genuine-Mo.../dp/B002BY798E Or you could just web search, here is an example: http://www.automotivetouchup.com/cho...l=All%20Models |

if you want to stay with OEM you can try ECS tuning, I think it's 20 bucks...

Dr Color Chip Kit
The Paint is better than OEM and the whole kit works really well.

If you look in the engine bay by one usually the drivers side strut tower you'll see a placard with your color code on it. The Monaco Blue SunnyandRich posted might be your color but it's always best to check. If it is you should also have a letter number combo on the sticker (for that color it would be A35). If all that matches up then I have that particular paint touch up kit available HERE.

Wow your dealer really marks up their prices. I think I paid around $22 back a few months ago to buy the BMW Paint kit, works pretty well if the user is skilled enough

I bought the touch-up paint at the selling dealer. 27 bucks but it came with two tubes of paint. Not much different cost wise than PepBoys or somewhere.

I just found a nail polish paint by Revlon called "Midnight Affair" (lol) that matches my dark blue 325i perfectly and only costs $5.99.

Ridiculous. For that amount of money you can get the Dr. Colorchip minimum package...although there may be shipping involved.
